which brings me to my next question: why does everyone hate on this guy? because younger kiddies love him? because he’s been very successful making non-traditional electronic weirdo music that somehow appeals to more than just music geeks? because of how he runs his live shows by getting everyone involved? because all he wears are ponchos nowadays?

i’ll say this: i don’t love his music, and i’m definitely not too interested in seeing him live any time soon (just seen it a couple too many times)— but why must everyone hate on him so hard?? he’s an INCREDIBLY nice dude! he’s done SO MUCH for Baltimore as an artistic community, and he’s continued to try innovative and strange ideas for as long as I’ve known of him.

On top of that, he’s the hardest working DIY musician that I know currently, and he seems to have an intense love and devotion to his art.

God! I second that so hard!

People get all uppety ‘n shit about him, and generally ALL they can say is “Fuck that guy.”  It’s not like he’s acting like Bono or something.  He doesn’t pretend to be anything that he isn’t.  So where is all the hate coming from?  And yeah, TOTALLY nice dude…TOTALLY helped/helping make Baltimore significant as a musical and artistic COMMUNITY (not just through his music), and I 100% respect that, even if I’m not so into his music.
